While I was disappointed that Governor Bill Richardson didn't win the Presidency, I am glad that he's still going to the White House--as Commerce Secretary:Ok, so he still has to be confirmed by the Senate, just like all the other people that Obama is picking for the various cabinet positions. I'm not thrilled with Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, but I guess he had to do something to placate the whiners in the Democratic Party.Update: He bowed out. Shucks.

As I know I've mentioned on phoneboy.com, Nokia is selling off the part of the company I work for to a financial investor of some sort. Who knows who it is--they won't tell us until the deal is done.Right now, the trick is staying busy, not worrying too much about that which I don't know about the new company, which if you think about it, is quite a lot. Oh sure, my boss and management line won't actually change. But there's a lot of underlying infrastructure that simply must change as a result of having to break away from Nokia.It's a lot to digest. It's a lot to think about. And, unfortunately, a lot of questions can't be answered until the deal is officially signed. That's life.Meanwhile, back to work. There's certainly no shortage of it right now.

A little over an hour ago, Pat Phelan announced to the world that Twitterfone was live. Within 40 minutes or so, he had 1500 signups. Since the service is invite only at the moment, it might be a bit before you get your invite to the service!What is it? My wife and I were trying to figure out a way to explain where Zoe went. For the longest time, she kept asking where Zoe went. We explained Zoe isn't here anymore. We gave her a picture of Zoe so she could see her all the time.

Leave it to the school to explain. Well, they didn't directly explain it, but they explained that Jesus died for us. It's a pre-school at a church, what do you expect? Anyway, she asked my wife if Zoe died the other day. She, of course said yes. Then my daugher said "Jesus died, too, so she must be Jesus' kitty now."

I drove by the vet the other day with the kids in the car. Jaden mentioned something about not needing to go there at all now that Zoe is dead. Then Gracie piped in with Zoe is Jesus' kitty now.

Oh well, it's not the explanation we were going for, but it works. Since then, the questions have stopped about Zoe. Instead, we get questions about if we're coming to her birthday or not, since that's coming soon. ;)

This buy Ben Heck took an original Apple ][gs and modified it to look like a laptop. Look at those slats on the front that remind you of the Apple //c. There's a floppy drive on the side. There's also a CompactFlash that serves as a hard drive!

Of course, it's not a real laptop as there's no battery. But it sure looks cool!
