Interesting, Medium is laying off some people [blog.medium.com] in an effort to refocus their product to "find a new model for writers and creators to be rewarded."

I didn't find the traditional models for rewarding writers all that profitable myself. Given that plenty of people write for the sheer joy of getting their ideas out there, I don't see how this will work. But maybe I'm not thinking about this enough or the right way. #nt
