Proud to live in a state that votes entirely by mail and in a county where 42% of registered voters have already voted (with 3 days to go).

Statewide, as of Friday, about 1.7 million of the more than 4.2 million ballots sent had been returned by mail or drop box.

Record turnout for the state came during the 2008 election, when 84.6 percent of voters participated. In 2012, turnout was 81.3 percent.

While election analysts across the country dissect early voting patterns in various states, the effect is muted in Washington, one of only three states that vote entirely by mail, along with Oregon and Colorado.

That means no long lines at polling places and no corresponding legal tussles over access to polling places.

and at least with analog signals, you could still kind of watch far away stations with static. Digital, not so much.

It's 30 including the various sub-channels, most of which you wouldn't necessarily watch :P

Just saw on the Tweeters that Trump was rushed off stage by Secret Service people.

Love the fact Gig Harbor High School streams their football games. Also love the fact they are currently ahead, which is amazing since they barely made the postseason.

I think it was about 30, but:

  1. We live in a geographic hole, making TV reception challenging. The only reason I tried it again was the last time I checked was nearly a decade ago (prior to the digital transition in the US).

  2. Anywhere I could put the antenna to improve the signal would be highly visible (not acceptable to my wife) and still did not pull in signal consistently enough to make it worth the trouble.

As such, the only ways to get local channels at my house is to pay the Comcast ransom.

Looks like Comcast will still get my money for TV for the foreseeable future. Antenna just doesn't cut it.

Kinda weird being in a Starbucks on a Saturday, but I'm up in Redmond and I have a few hours to kill.

@kdfrawg you had me scared for a bit. :o

I'm aware of how big DC is. I have friends and family that live there. "Taxation without Representation" is something you see on license plate covers on cars with DC plates on them.
