@matigo I'm shocked they're not trying to give you Windows Server 2008 machines. :P
@matigo something like that. Personally I trust Apple more than a random hacker, but that's just me. :P
@matigo I've seen plenty of organizations with decent security tools but shit people and/or shit process. You can guess the result. :P
@matigo this phone does have some hardware issues (like a screen repair I tried to do that went badly, and possibly a wonky battery) so I wouldn't necessarily use my experience as a reason not to upgrade.
One reason to definitely upgrade: a specially crafted picture message (either MMS or iMessage) can pwn your device if you're not running iOS 9.3.3.
It appears a restore made my 2.4Ghz WiFi on the 5s a bit more stable, but 5Ghz is still fucked. And my, this phone is getting downright HOT during the restore process (it's plugged in, of course)…
@matigo in one of the regional sales meetings I attended, those sentiments were echoed.
The iPhone 5s (not my primary phone) is having severe WiFi issues since updating to iOS 9.3.3. Looks like a full restore is in order… >.<
@matigo Given our CEO has said publicly [seekingalpha.com] he'd like to see better results from our recent investments in Sales and Marketing, I think it's fair to say the winds of change are kicking up…
Shebly Seyrafi - FBN Securities, Inc.
Okay. And the other question I have is that your sales and marketing expenses have been growing at mid-teens or higher growth rates for several quarters, 16% last quarter for example. And how long should we expect sales and marketing to remain elevated?
Gil Shwed - Founder and Chief Executive Officer
I think we'd like the sales and marketing to be even higher, what we'd like also the business results to be higher. I think we made a big investment last year and we are continuing the investment this year, not at the same pace as we've done last year. And I think I'm looking forward to see more of the results of the investment that we made last year.
In the 7 years I've been at Check Point, we've never had a high-level sales executive based in California. Now, in the span of a month, we have two.
