At one point, the wind started blowing in a different direction and ALL the planes in line had to turn around to point the opposite direction, adding to the fun.

Seriously, it could have been way worse. The flight crew kept us well informed. No one lost their mind.

The airport in Atlanta is not an airport you want to be stuck at when most of the runways are shut down. At the beginning of the ordeal, the pilot said "we are currently number 59 for takeoff." Two hours later, he read a federally mandated statement saying if we're out there another hour, we have to go back to the gate. We took off ten minutes later.

In any case, I made it home in one piece.
