@matigo I got a Skype from one of my co-workers earlier this morning. A few minutes later, the radio station my contractor was listening to was playing Prince songs. Not making this up. :P
The way the radio is playing Prince songs, you'd think he made only six songs tops.
The demo starts with my deck. It's about half gone already. Image [www.instagram.com]
If you're using algorithms to discover music, you're doing it wrong. Music discovery requires far more context than any algorithm can give.
Appreciation of music is tied to location, events, time of your life, etc. No algorithm will ever have access to any of those elements.
Just because X song I like sounds a lot like Y song doesn't mean I'll like it. Especially if song Y has no other context to go with it.
Context is king. Context adds humanity. Without it, you're just a machine.
If you're using algorithms to discover music, you're doing it wrong. Music discovery requires far more context than any algorithm can give.
When stuff is torn down, you can see just how poorly it was put together. All of the posts on my trellis had some level of wood rot, a couple had rotted to the core. Glad it's coming down.
