Well, I will say this: the unlock site that took my money but failed to find an unlock code for my phone gave me my money back. Granted, I had to "open a dispute" with PayPal to find the URL to put my email address into, but sure enough, money returned to my account.

Personally haven't run into it. Then again, Americans don't generally use WhatsApp. All of my contacts are either outside the US or people I work with who also deal with people outside the US. :P

WhatsApp whitelisted the problematic phone number. Group to allow me to share content between my various iOS and Android devices achieved.

I don't think Facebook itself cares.

thankfully I've got nothing there, but I think Check Point might…

Why does WhatsApp care what number I give it? If I get their SMS validation message, what’s it to them?

@kdfrawg definitely a YMMV situation.

@kdfrawg it's like I said, web browsers in general are problematic. Think about how often they are patched for security vulnerabilities, yet we use them all the time.

I would be more worried about LastPass if they were less responsive about security issues than they are.

Android phones only last a couple years before they start doing that. :P

if you pay full price for the device, that's should certainly be true. I'm pretty sure $30 is a subsidized price as, at least based on what I know from working at Nokia, $30 barely covers the cost of goods and getting the device into the channel (Target in this case).
