Went into my local AT&T store to pay off a device and cancel the associated line. The store was happy to take my money to pay off the device but told me I had to call to cancel service because they no longer had the ability to do so.
Tried to cancel the service online..same thing.
Meanwhile, after waiting a half hour on hold and listening to the upsell pitch…I finally was able to get it done.
Companies sure don't make it easy to discontinue service.
