@kdfrawg what he told me was that my A1C would likely go up half a point once I stopped taking Metformin, which would bring it to 5.5 (assuming I get to 5.0 and what he says is true). But still, a lot of what I read suggests you can stop taking Metformin with A1C levels as high as 7.
