@joanna my daughter's computer, who was already on Windows 10, who had almost nothing installed on it, couldn't upgrade in place to the latest release. Wasn't expecting my wife's computer, who has been running the same Windows 7 install for years, to upgrade cleanly.
That and the hardware needs replacing/upgrading. Already had a prebuilt computer with a fresh OS install to give her. It'll be a project to get everything moved over.
