@indigo I agree it's an issue (people working too hard without making enough to live on). That said, I'm not sure that raising the minimum wage will make things any better. Businesses will, instead of paying a living wage (and raising costs), simply automate the jobs out of existence.
There's already not a ton of jobs out there for teenagers and young adults, most of which are living at home and thus don't necessarily need a living wage. That said, the experience they gain in these jobs is invaluable. Raise the minimum wage, and a lot of those jobs will disappear.
Personally, I'd rather see a basic universal income of sorts versus a minimum wage.
