It took Amazon two tries to ship me a CPU fan that wasn’t broken. Thankfully I didn’t have to return the broken one…nor did I have to request yet another one.
And I now have things backing up to S3 again. Just in time to consolidate onto my VM servers that have been largely idle.
@matigo the 99pi episode went into detail about the different kinds of hanko people have. Kinda amazing that tradition has lasted as long as it has.
I guess 8-9 years of life for a CPU fan is alright. Sadly, it means buying another one. Fortunately they’re relatively cheap.
Today I learned about Hanko [99percentinvisible.org]. Have to admit, I kinda want one.

@variablepulserate that’s a given. This time of year they at least come from the west coast of the US. Other times of year they come from South America.
@variablepulserate the ones from the store are terrible compared to what grows in my yard.
