@gtwilson I remember my dad saying cars were getting more complicated to work on with all the electrics. Mind you, this was back in the 1980s. If he were alive today, I'm sure he'd hardly recognize what's under my hood now.

@gtwilson they're getting closer to being able to do that. It's those aforementioned batteries that are the limiting factor. :P

Still processing the fact I bought a new car last night. Expecting a huge jump in insurance premium with the addition of Thing 1 to the policy. #nt
@gtwilson it's like I said: I don't believe the car is necessarily any better for the environment. Hopefully they get better over time, though.
// @japchap @hybotics
@hybotics which is why I'm under no illusion that driving a hybrid is necessarily any better for the environment than a regular car. Still, it burns less fuel, which is not a bad thing.

@matigo math dictated by bureaucrats, which may not entirely be math. :P
// @jextxadore
@matigo there's probably tax reasons why they have to be separate.

@japchap I don't drive my car all that much compared to a lot of Americans (I do work from home, after all), but when I do, traffic is usually involved.
