At this point 10C is invite only and not growing astronomically. That probably helps with the pace a bit. Even when things "open up" a bit I suspect the growth will not be hyperbolic because no one involved will necessarily get any press and thus not a lot of attention. No one's expectations (users, developers) are inflated as a result.

@height8 Firefox has looked a bit listless for some time now, so the sentiments aren't all that surprising.

It does have a bit of a "this tall to ride" element to it, but once you find a theme that doesn't suck and get it all set up, it's pretty straightforward to use day-to-day.
