I agree it's an issue (people working too hard without making enough to live on). That said, I'm not sure that raising the minimum wage will make things any better. Businesses will, instead of paying a living wage (and raising costs), simply automate the jobs out of existence.

There's already not a ton of jobs out there for teenagers and young adults, most of which are living at home and thus don't necessarily need a living wage. That said, the experience they gain in these jobs is invaluable. Raise the minimum wage, and a lot of those jobs will disappear.

Personally, I'd rather see a basic universal income of sorts versus a minimum wage.

I did something similar with Workflow on iOS: https://phoneboy.com/workflows-for-10centuries-and-pnut-io

the question I always have is: who gets to determine what is an acceptable living wage and an acceptable workload?

What will probably happen is those jobs will just be automated out of existence. There's a reason Amazon is experimenting with drone delivery.

@kdfrawg losing that much weight so quickly would be hard to forget :P

@kdfrawg 100 pounds in four months ?

some people apparently do. Even though I am generally an extreme guy, diving into a 30-day fast just didn't occur to me.

The #1 Rule of Fasting [medium.com]: Start slow. Don't go from "never having fasted" to a 30-day water-only fast.

they grey doesn't bother me. In fact, I expected to be this grey 20+ years ago based on based on how much grey my dad had in his early 40s.

The one thing these passport photos (Mar 1999, June 2008, June 2017) don’t show is my weight loss in the early 2000s. Clearly I gained it back, but I’m back to losing.

They do show how quickly I’ve went grey, though. ?
