Last year during Super Bowl, I was in Austria where the game was on after midnight. I watched because the 49ers were in it. That was a very late, disappointing evening.

This year? I'm home and not really interested. Barely watched the playoffs.

actually, at least from what I've read on Reddit, the upstream is NOT throttled, only the downstream is. Which is… interesting.

we pay some of the highest prices in the world for basic connectivity in the Land of the Free. Canada is even worse.

That said, at least with mobile phone operators, there are deals to be had if you shop around. The $125/5 line plan that Cricket (AT&T's prepaid brand) has some limitations to it (video is throttled at 1.5 mbps, everything else throttled at 8mbps, no hotspot, deprioritized in congested areas, but otherwise unlimited), but for light usage, it's more than sufficient.

Well, that took fucking forever, but I've ported my mother-in-law's Verizon phone to our plan on Cricket/AT&T. Amazing she was paying them $70/month when I get five lines for $125.

which for Spokane in February is downright warm.

I've already recorded two podcasts on it and done a Jitsi call with it. It will record locally to a MicroSD card, handle USB audio, TSSR (connections to phones with a cable), and Bluetooth all with appropriate mix-minus so people don't hear themselves.

Just got a Rodecaster Pro. Pretty professional kit.

It could definitely be easier. Helps I’ve done it before, so I know how to do it and basically what to expect without having seen the video for that specific phone model.
