In 2012, when my employer exceeded a billion in revenue, they flew the entire company to Cancun. In 2020, we finally got to two billion in revenue. No trip anywhere this time around, given the Rona, but we did get a nice cash bonus. Definitely can't argue with that.
@matigo My daughter has effectively killed three screens:
- My old iPad
- My iPhone 6s Plus (she was using it as her phone for a while)
- Her iPhone Xr (received sometime after breaking the aforementioned iPhone 6s Plus)
Been a couple years and I decided to try and resurrect the old phone. Hard to do that when we forgot the passcode and the home button was not working so I could get it into DFU mode to factory reset it. Figured I'd replace the broken screen while I was at it.
Eventually I will replace the battery. Or maybe not.
@matigo I signed up for a year because my son bought a Mac back in October and we got it for free. Pretty sure I haven’t watched it at all.
Almost good as new. Unfortunately the original button is toast, which means: no TouchID on this iPhone 6s Plus. Later, I’ll put a new battery in it. Or maybe I won’t.

@matigo I would think the current circumstances would be beneficial for such tools, especially since it doesn’t seem we are “returning to normal” anytime soon.
@matigo creating things that matter. That seems like a laudable goal for anyone.

“Marathoners die of heart attacks, too, occasionally young. Jim Fixx, author of The Complete Book of Running, a best seller in 1977, tragically died of a heart attack while out for a run. He was fifty-two years old. The conventional wisdom is that there are few things we can do that would be better for us, but we’ll never know for sure. We know that endurance runners seem to be very healthy, but that may not apply to us.” — Gary Taubes, “The Case for Keto”
"We are experiencing higher than normal call and live chat volumes" is code for "we didn't hire enough people and give zero fucks if you have to wait for one of our agents to become available."
Yes, I literally just had to write in code "Do NOT uncomment this code without talking to PhoneBoy first."
@matigo I was seeing a lot of the same domains in many of the spam accounts. I checked them out and saw they were for giving you an email address for a site you don’t want to give your real email address to.
Considering that our community site is for customers and there’s no legit reason for a customer to be using one of these services, it made it a very easy decision to simply prevent them from posting.
