The digital hermitage: How “remote work” has changed over 20 years [arstechnica.com] And I've lived all of it…and then some.

to be fair, the company was a small startup in Israel. Guessing their website didn't have much on it. We definitely did not do this with previous acquisition, which was a more established company.

That's a first: my employer bought a company today and redirected their domain to the press release that says we bought them.

I will say that my current employer has not done a widespread RIF. Even at my last employer, our business unit was mostly spared from these, though I definitely knew when they were going on (even remotely).

The one advantage to being a field employee is that I don't see when those things happen. :P

yeah, that won't end well.

I plan to keep doing what I've been doing. May tweak what I'm eating a little bit here and there as things are not exactly where I want them to be.

Surprised they are even alive, but those little buggers are crafty.

Considering how much I traveled last year, the fact I lost a few pounds along the way is pretty good. Could lose a bunch more, but happy I'm not backsliding.

I guess if you’re going to wake up because of a coughing fit paired with jet lag, finding and killing a wasp that somehow got into the kitchen is a nice consolation prize.
