What ever happened to Saturday night?
Finding a sweetheart and holding her tight… ?
@matigo I replaced the processor fan more than once on a particular Lenovo I had--about $20. Specifically because the machine would no longer boot because the fan wasn't working.
@matigo I'm not so sure it's better, since in most of these systems, ultimately "someone else" is responsible for the platform. That "someone else" is perhaps more visible than on, say, Twitter or Facebook, and there may be a bit more transparency about decisions as a result, but they can also be bullied by the mob.
In an ideal world, these systems would be entirely distributed and only the end user could make a decision about what they will and will not see. Any "censorship" decision, in this case, would only affect one individual.
@matigo This was a Centrino Dru processor. In a laptop. So, you know, not very well cooled. ?
@matigo It's meh. I look at it occasionally, but there's just a lot of the same conversations I avoid elsewhere.

First time I mowed the lawn myself in a couple years. Much easier with 100 pounds / 45 kilos less bodyweight, but the grass is wet and I had to bag. ?
The problem isn't the platform, it's the people. And, sadly, the same kinds of people are everywhere.
The Tower of Babel story from The Bible is starting to seem more and more apropos.
@matigo All it takes is one or two people for the whole exercise to be profitable.
