Maybe instead of figuring out how to produce more insulin cheaper, we reduce our need for insulin by changing our diet. Seems like a better solution in the long run.

@matigo unfortunately, modern fruit has been bred to contain more sugar than is healthy for us. In fact, a zoo had to stop feeding their animals fruit because it was making them fat and their teeth rot [newsweek.com].
If you need to read a nutritional label to determine if some "food" is good for you, it's probably not.
