‪The constant irrelevant notifications eventually cause you to react as if someone was calling your name. Responses to these notifications become involuntarily.‬

That's pretty sinister.‬

Apparently the neighborhood gave zero fucks that Independence Day is tomorrow and set off a bunch of shit tonight. And some the night before. ?

Western Washington just got 564, which overlays all of 206/425/253/360, which is basically everything West of the Cascades.

just to make life interesting, there were parts of the same area code in THE US that were technically considered "out of area" calls. Large parts of the 408 area code were also in different LATAs [en.m.wikipedia.org] which meant you needed a PhD to figure out whether or not the 7 digit "local" number you were about to dial was going to require a small bank loan to pay the resulting phone bill.

For me my first number was a 408. The area it was in became 831. Then I moved to a part of 415 that became 650 (1997 maybe?).

And yeah, it's gone downhill from there.

I guess I'm about to find out ?

I remember when Area Codes meant something. Now, people can't even remember their own phone number anymore, much less anyone elses.

Considering how often I've been flying home on Friday only to turn around on Monday or Tuesday to head to the airport…I figured I was due a weekend.

Granted it'll be somewhere between Cleveland and Omaha during that weekend, but at least I've been neither of those places before.

more hotel stays than flights, actually. This is my "midwest August" jaunt and I decided not to try and fly home over the weekend and fly back.

Booked one of my most complicated itineraries today in the corporate travel system. Let's hope I did it with zero mistakes.
