In what Universe does it make sense to drop an in-progress download of tens of gigabytes just because the interactive web interface to the site times out? Great job, VMware, ship it!

it must be a balmy spring day at -5C :)

While it's true that the only truly dumb question is the one you don't ask, the level of dumbness of a question also depends greatly on who asks it.

On another note, I'm finally removing the various vestiges of app.net from my password manager.

Hm… so on a lark I decided to see if app.net (the website) still didn't resolve.

It now does, and it points to a site called mobiblocks.com, a web design firm in the Seattle area.

Also, don't know why I didn't try using Duo sooner. Push notifications to confirm it was you logging in someplace for the win.

I signed up for Bitwarden. You can use it for free, similar to LastPass, but the reason I signed up for the yearly subscription was the same reason I originally signed up for LastPass subscription: syncing secured attachments. I can live with $10/year.

Nothing like changing password managers to make you realize just how much crap you had stored in there. Some duplicate stuff to boot.

sometimes a nerd out is a good thing.

Wish I had looked into Bitwarden before spending $10 on the Enpass app for iOS.
