After a later than expected trip to the airport, the family is now back home again.

yup, that’s was Galloping Gertie, which the immediately replaced with something more able to withstand the winds that commonly blow on the Narrows. A second bridge was built in the late 2000s.

they’re in pretty good shape. Even the portapotties at the high school and trails are generally in decent shape, too. This isn’t Seattle or even Tacoma. 😬

wasn’t exactly sure how far I’d go, but today felt like the day to try crossing the Narrows. Didn’t take the most efficient route to get there as I didn’t really start out with that intention.

The only asterisk to this is at about mile 12, I had to avail myself of one of the restrooms along the way. Thankfully, the city has several along the Cushman Trail.

perhaps I have a bit more faith that humanity will recover from this than Orwell. The fact that we’re even discussing it means there’s still a chance.
