Oops, I did it again. The Narrows Bridge was calling to me today. New high score.
After a later than expected trip to the airport, the family is now back home again.
@variablepulserate yup, that’s was Galloping Gertie, which the immediately replaced with something more able to withstand the winds that commonly blow on the Narrows. A second bridge was built in the late 2000s.
@matigo they’re in pretty good shape. Even the portapotties at the high school and trails are generally in decent shape, too. This isn’t Seattle or even Tacoma. 😬
@matigo wasn’t exactly sure how far I’d go, but today felt like the day to try crossing the Narrows. Didn’t take the most efficient route to get there as I didn’t really start out with that intention.
The only asterisk to this is at about mile 12, I had to avail myself of one of the restrooms along the way. Thankfully, the city has several along the Cushman Trail.
@variablepulserate perhaps I have a bit more faith that humanity will recover from this than Orwell. The fact that we’re even discussing it means there’s still a chance.

@variablepulserate true and that helps both “causes” (if you want to call them that). Needless to say, I don’t think the current state of affairs are…sustainable.

@matigo the text on the dark mode could be a little lighter, but a definite improvement.
