I’m pleasantly surprised with the promptness with which this arrived. And now…I can change my name at work.

@matigo what’s interesting about Tennessee is that if you trade in a car, you can actually transfer the license plate to the new car. It’s why I was a little thrown off when they required me to get a new plate.

Who knew that removing my ex from my car title would result in getting new tags? Not me, apparently.
Oh well, at least the car is registered for another 12 months. And, unlike Washington, Tennessee doesn’t charge you an arm and a leg. It also didn’t require her to sign anything, either.
@variablepulserate in Washington State, I paid $80 to renew my license for 6 years. My first license in Tennessee was about $30 and is good for 8 years. The $8 was a “duplicate license” fee.
@matigo it’ll be an even bigger smile when I actually get my updated social security card and show my employer. Then they can change my name in their systems.
Divorce: $ OMGWTF.BBQ!!!!
New Drivers License: $8
New Social Security Card: $0
Finally being rid of a last name I never should have taken in the first place: priceless.
